A two-year-old boy was left in a critical condition in Worcestershire on Monday and an eight-year-old boy and girl, six, were also taken to hospital in Cannock in a separate incident.
The two attacks were carried out just weeks after the deaths of two young women who had been mauled and mauled in their home by dogs.
Two children have been seriously injured in separate dog attacks in the West Midlands.
A two-year old boy was critically injured in hospital Monday after being attacked on Monday at Egdon in Worcestershire.
It was the result of an incident that occurred Saturday night in Cannock. An eight-year old boy was taken to hospital.
Police did not specify how many dogs were involved in the Egdon attack, but they suggested that it was at least one.
The animals have been removed from the property and posed no risk to the public, West Mercia Police said.
The force added the dogs were not thought to be banned breeds.
The boy’s family were taking him to hospital but stopped at Worcester Countryside Centre on advice from the ambulance service, and he was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Police stated that officers will remain at Worcester Countryside Centre, and the Egdon address “for a while”.
“This is an incredibly sad incident and our thoughts are with the young child and his family,” Chief Inspector Fergus Green said.
In Cannock a Staffordshire Police officer arrested a woman following alleged dog attacks that left the boy suffering serious facial injuries.
A six-year-old girl and a 35-year-old woman were also hurt and received treatment for arm injuries, the force said.
The boy and the girl were brought to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, but the woman was not admitted.
These incidents occurred weeks after the deaths of two young girls.
